James works in the farms department and advises on business structure, strategic direction, business reviews and appraisals as well as managing ‘in hand’ farms owned by clients. He also supervises and runs a large number of contract farming and joint venture arrangements. He also advises clients on Single Farm Payments as well as EU legislation and conservation grant schemes, such as Entry Level Stewardship (ELS) and Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) agreements. James has also been involved in securing grant funding from what was the Regional Development Agencies (RDA’s) and now DEFRA for a number of clients who have undertaken various diversification ventures.

Dawn joined Fisher German in April 2008 as secretary/pa to John Hopkinson following the merger of John Hopkinson & Co with Fisher German. Dawn provides secretarial support to the Newark office, is the office Safety Health and Environment rep and provides residential agency support.

Richard has considerable experience in estate management matters, acting for both private and institutional clients. He is also involved in telecommunications sites, CAP reform, the sale and letting of rural property and planning matters. Originally from Worcestershire, Richard has gained experience in the profession through working in counties as diverse as Shropshire, Northumberland and Cambridgeshire. In his free time Richard has been working on a residential property renovation.

Robert has 30 years' experience as a rural practice surveyor and auctioneer in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. He joined the Newark team of Fisher German in 2009 and provides advice on the sale and purchase of farms as well as development land. He is an agent for the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC) and provides valuations of all types of rural property for Bank funding, taxation and dispute resolution. Robert is married with two daughters. Having hung up his rugby boots, he is a keen supporter of his former Club, Market Rasen, a cyclist and a proficient sailor.

Ben has 27 years’ experience practising as a land agent throughout eastern of England, both in private practice and in the public sector. He joined the Newark office from Michael Murphy Associates and currently works primarily on land acquisition, compensation and estate management for the Environment Agency under the new contract (Ben worked as an in-house surveyor for the EA’s Anglian Region between 1999 and 2006, and as an external consultant ever since). Ben is married with two daughters, and lives in the flat lands of Holbeach. When his girls allow him, he indulges his passions for shooting, fishing and music.

Rachel graduated from Harper Adams University in 2012, before qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 2013. Rachel enjoys travelling and all aspects of rural life within the community.
